The coffees featured in the SLURP rare subscription have been carefully curated by Slurp with the assistance of two-time Finnish Barista Champion and specialty coffee consultant Jarno Peräkylä. The focus will be strongly on the newest inventions happening in specialty coffee, not forgetting the old school goldies.
SLURP rare coffees are roasted by Alexander Ruas from Standout Coffee in Stockholm, Sweden. Mr Ruas is one of the pioneers of Stockholm’s Third Wave coffee scene and a multiple barista and brewers cup champion. He is also one of the original members of the legendary Drop Coffee.
In April, we have a guest roaster Mr. Suzuki from Glitch Coffee, the winner of the Japan AeroPress Championship in 2014 and a cafeteria owner in Jinbo-cho. He has been working with the World Barista Champion 2003 Paul Basset and has brought tasty light roasted coffees to Japan through his special roasting method.
